Favourite Games (updated over time)
Celeste
Celeste is my favourite game of all time right now. Mostly due to its perfectly tuned platforming and level design but because of the insane modding community that can turn a 40 hour to complete 2D platformer into a forever game. One of my best memories is clicking on a B-Side unsure of what it meant and spending far too long trudging through something I was not ready for.
The Farewell DLC is also a perfect ending.
Mod recommendations
- Strawberry Jam
- 2020 Spring Collab
- ik this is the most basic list possible but I'll add more when I play more
Tetr.io
My favourite online game. With modern tetris mechanics like t-spins and srs, there's a lot more depth than you would expect to playing well. This version of the game is really smooth, free, and can be played in the web browser if you like.
Ace Attorney OG Trilogy
Most peoples introductions to visual novels tends to be ace attorney. Each game is split into 4 or 5 cases which increase in scale until a big finale chapter. While some may not consider visual novels "real games", some also don't consider animal crossing a real game so I will put whatever I like on this list. :3 I'm playing the Great Ace Attorney games right now which might turn out to be even better.
Katamari Damacy
A simple concept of rolling up everything in sight, executed almost perfectly with one of the most outstanding and unique soundtracks I've heard in a game.
"Chu chu churu chu churu chu chu; Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na"
Why isn't this on spotify >:(
HOLD UP I JUST CHECKED AND THEY PUT IT ON SPOTIFY LAST YEAR LETS GOOOOOOO
Devil May Cry 5
Some of the best 3D combat I've played, no filler, just pure combat with gorgeous animation and insane combo potential. Some of the most consistently entertaining AAA games I've played than never falls into the usual tropes of filler to pad out the game's length. The third game is also quite good because there is more Vergil.
Banjo-Kazooie
While the later levels drag on a little, Banjo-Kazooie feels like the logical successor to Super Mario 64 , building a more expansive, and detailed world and ditching the mechanic of kicking players out of the level once a star is obtained. I have an amiibo of them permanently on my desk :3
Metroid Dread
One of the most tense experiences I've had. The E.M.M.I. are very scary and the power scaling is tuned to make you feel like superman until the next area beats you into oblivion again. The bosses were definitely a highlight here with how responsive and fluid Samus's movement is keeps every death feeling fair. I wish I had the amiibo for this one :(
PS
This list is probably not finished so I might add some more games later
Remember, my opinion is objectively true and if your opinion differs from mine you are wrong.
